ABOUT THE COURSE

The Kenya School of Law is running this as an inaugural course for student leaders in Universities, Colleges and post graduate Diploma training institutions.

 

The course intended to build the capacity such student leaders to provide visionary and purposed leadership, to equip them to address contemporary challenges evident in student bodies and to provide a forum for team building and networking among student leaders.

The Course places emphasis on principles which if applied correctly can make student leadership a fulfilling experience, and one that is of benefit too to the larger student body.

The course will highlight the Legal and Regulatory framework in which student leadership bodies operate in Kenya, and build on these to show how different aspects of student leadership fit into the legal and regulatory framework.

INTENDED PARTICIPANTS

This three day course is designed for students holding various offices of leadership at different Tertiary institutions of learning including those offering Diploma courses as well as Universities and institutions offering post graduate diploma professional courses.

 COURSE CONTENT

The topics to be covered in the course will include:

·       Purposeful and Visionary leadership

·       The Constitution of Kenya and student leadership

·       Promoting wellness among students

·       Dispute handling and resolution

The program will also provide time for team building and networking among the participants.

INTENDED OUTCOMES

It is expected that at the end of the course the participants will be able to enrich the leadership they  are providing at various levels, for the benefit of the student body they represent.

TRAINERS

The School has assembled a team of experienced trainers with expertise in the areas of discussion including Leadership, Constitutional law, Psychology and Dispute handling and Resolution.  

CERTIFICATION

A certificate of attendance will be issued to the participants who attend the entire course.

 

PAYMENT: The Kshs. 34,800/= covers tuition, course materials, stationery, lunch and refreshments and is inclusive of taxes. Participants will be expected to make their own arrangements for travel and accommodation.
